The Chapter House of Wells Cathedral was completed in 1306. The octagonal building, accessed via well-worn steps from the main building is where the Canons met to conduct cathedral business. It is still occasionally used for this purpose today.

The Cathedral cloisters (Photographic permit 47588).
Wells is the second smallest cathedral city in England (after the City of London) and was founded in 1205. It is located at the foot of the Mendip Hills in Somerset. It was named after the fact that there are three wells in the city closely associated with the cathedral.
