The construction works of the building that we see today began in 1517, having ended this phase in the middle of the century, but in the centuries. XVII and XVIII new renovations will take place. The sixteenth century works were planned and directed by Marcos Pires, author of the wonderful portal (side door), one of the masterpieces of Manueline style with a naturalist character, between 1517 and 1521, with the finishing being in charge of Diogo de Castilho.
