Convento del Carmen
València

We are in the former convent of "El Carmen", whose origins date back to 1281, the end of the Reconquista, but like many others grew in successive phases.

Specifically, the panorama is situated in the so-called Renaissance cloister, a corner where their silence can transport us to its origins, when the convent was located outside the walls of Valencia. In the background we can also see the Gothic cloister.

The set stopped his religious character and started to have various uses: the Royal Academy of San Carlos (since 1848) and the School of Fine Arts and Crafts (until 1986), the school of artists like Sorolla, Pinazo or Benlliure family.

Currently still linked to this institution and different exhibitions held there, for these and the buildings it is worth at least one visit.
