The town of Felanitx, with an area of 169, 57 km and a population of over 15,000 inhabitants located in the southeast of Mallorca, has 15 kilometers of coastline where some beaches, which are one of its main tourist attractions.  En el campo hay un gran número de casas rurales, que forman parte de un importante patrimonio arquitectónico, algunas de ellas restauradas y integradas dentro de la oferta del turismo rural en Mallorca, como fincas de agroturismo o bien como hoteles rurales. In the countryside there are a large number of cottages, which are part of an important architectural heritage, some of them restored and integrated into the supply of rural tourism in Mallorca, such as farm or farms as rural hotels.

Documentalmente consta que entorno al año 1260 ya existían en Felanitx unas quince casas, que formarían el núcleo original del pueblo. Delante de esta plaza, a la izquierda subiendo las escaleras de la iglesia parroquial de Sant Miquel , se encuentra la pequeña iglesia de Santa Maria , una construcción del siglo XIII o XIV, con reminiscencias del arte románico, propias del gótico inicial. El otro convento es el de la Providència, en la calle Julivert que debe su actual aspecto a una profunda transformación realizada a principios del siglo XX. Felanitx ya en el siglo XIX presentaba una tradición industrial, sobretodo en la producción de aguardiente y vino, como testimonio de la prosperidad de aquella época, hay numerosas casas particulares destacables. Actualmente la actividad industrial del pueblo está muy ligada a la construcción, con algunas empresas dedicadas a la transformación de alimentos como la elaboración de embutidos. Por lo que se refiere al vino, la zona está dentro de la denominación de Origen del Pla i Llevant de Mallorca , con algunas bodegas que producen vino de gran calidad. As regards wine, the area is within the denomination of Origin Llevant i Pla de Mallorca, with some wineries producing quality wines.

This is an overview of Europe

Europe is generally agreed to be the birthplace of western culture, including such legendary innovations as the democratic nation-state, football and tomato sauce.

The word Europe comes from the Greek goddess Europa, who was kidnapped by Zeus and plunked down on the island of Crete. Europa gradually changed from referring to mainland Greece until it extended finally to include Norway and Russia.

Don't be confused that Europe is called a continent without looking like an island, the way the other continents do. It's okay. The Ural mountains have steadily been there to divide Europe from Asia for the last 250 million years. Russia technically inhabits "Eurasia".

Europe is presently uniting into one political and economic zone with a common currency called the Euro. The European Union originated in 1993 and is now composed of 27 member states. Its headquarters is in Brussels, Belgium.

Do not confuse the EU with the Council of Europe, which has 47 member states and dates to 1949. These two bodies share the same flag, national anthem, and mission of integrating Europe. The headquarters of the Council are located in Strasbourg, France, and it is most famous for its European Court of Human Rights.

In spite of these two bodies, there is still no single Constitution or set of laws applying to all the countries of Europe. Debate rages over the role of the EU in regards to national sovereignty. As of January 2009, the Lisbon Treaty is the closest thing to a European Constitution, yet it has not been approved by all the EU states.
