Fonte do Rosario, Poco, Peniche
Portugal

A territory traditionally lacking in drinking water, the Peniche peninsula still boasts a landscape marked by the wide diversity of fountains and wells, the most important being the Fonte do Rosário. The Fonte do Rosário is an imposing diving fountain, in which for the convenience of use, an access ramp and a small interior patio were built that allowed the inversion of the direction of travel of the carts and animals that transported the precious water to the Village . Probably built in the 19th century. XVI or XVII, to meet the needs of the land, was restored in the century. XVIII, according to the 1717 date engraved on the central stone of the entrance arch.
