Golden Horn Kadir Has Üniversity
Istanbul

Kadir Has Üniversitesi (KHU) 1997 yılında İstanbul’da kuruldu. Bünyesinde Mühendislik, Fen-Edebiyat, İktisadi İdari Bilimler, İletişim, Hukuk ve Güzel Sanatlar fakültelerini barındıran kurum, Türkiye’de eğitim ve kültür alanlarında bir lider konumuna ulaşmak; araştırma ve bilimsel gelişme açısından uluslararası bir merkez olmak hedeflerini taşımaktadır.


Tütün üreten fabrikadan bilim üreten bir üniversiteye

Tarihi Bizans surlarının ardında İstanbul’un en eski bölgesi yer almaktadır. Bu surlar Kadir Has Üniversitesi’nin merkez kampüsünün yer aldığı Cibali bölgesinin de etrafını çevreler. Kampüs Osmanlı döneminden beri “Altın Boynuz” diye de anılan Haliç’e yalnızca birkaç metre uzaklıktadır. Kampüsün bitişik semti Unkapanı bölgesinde Osmanlı devrinde ticari hayatın kalbinde yer alan ve 19. yüzyıla kadar kullanılan Zeugma yer alıyordu ve doğal olarak Zeugma etrafındaki aktiviteler bölgeye hareket getiriyordu. Bu hareketlilikten Cibali de nasibini alıyordu, Cibali’nin Haliç kıyılarındaki ambarlar ve depolar bu bölgeye doğru gelişmiş olan ticari hayat hakkında fikir vermektedir.

Istanbul (historically Byzantium and later Constantinople; see the other names of Istanbul) is the largest city of Turkey and the third largest city in the world. The city covers 27 districts of the Istanbul province.It is located on the Bosphorus Strait and encompasses the natural harbor known as the Golden Horn, in the northwest of the country.
