Guarda, Cathedral South facade
Portugal

The transept is elevated, flanked by barred buttresses, ending in spiers with lacy decoration, having a portal with access by stone stairs; this one is in a depressed arch, surrounded by four archivolts with the same profile, the interiors resting on raised imposts and the exteriors on columns, with capitals decorated with stylized plant elements.

The bell towers are powerful, polygonal, ending in decorative battlements and with several windows and perfectly round windows. The staggered side façades are marked by buttresses and flying buttresses.
