Iglesia Nuestra Señora del Rosario - Chonchi

This temple is located in the heart of the city of Chonchi, facing the Plaza de Armas. Its construction dates back to 1893 and was made with stones and cypress basis. Inside there is a large blue dome studded half arch white stars

The Church of Chonchi with all the color of yellow and blue. This church gives life to the town center of Chonchi.

On the outside there are meanwhile pillars, arches and pediment filed. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1971 by the Government of Chile.


The church Chonchi is heavily used by the faithful. In the photo, a celebration in a Saturday afternoon for a wedding.

The main festival of this temple takes place every November 4 when he remembers San Carlos de Borromeo, patron of the church and the city.

South America makes up the southern half of the Americas and a large part of Latin America. It's home to the world's longest mountain range, biggest waterfall and largest river -- even these mammoths pale in comparison to the stunning variety of life forms thriving in the rainforest. To the northwest, off the coast of Ecuador, lie the Galapagos Islands, which are unique for hosting species not found anywhere else on earth. Following liberation from Portugal and Spain, South America took off into its own development, capitalizing on the rich deposits of oil, gold, copper, silver and tango musicians.
