Икона–рама к иконе «Богоматерь Ярославская» изображает князей Василия и Константина, которые как бы несут святыню в торжественном крестном ходе. Над ними – земной шар, а на нем, как высшее творение – Успенский собор. Иконописец Иван Смирнов, в 1803 году создавая этот образ, воспринимал Ярославль как апофеоз земного мира.
