迦叶殿也叫迦裟殿，位于鸡足山天柱峰半山腰的东面，传说鸡足山的开山祖师饮光佛迦叶尊者在殿内的大盘石上守衣入定500年而得名。也就是这样的原因，迦叶殿在鸡足山众多的庙宇中占有举足轻重的地位，被称为“山中第一寺”和“山中诸寺之祖庭”。
其实现在我们看到的迦叶殿是在九十年代初重建的。
