   The museum of M.E.Saltykova-ShChedrina first in the country is opened on October, 25th, 1968 in the house where with 1848 for 1855 the writer lived, living in exile in Vyatka.

   The exposition acquaints with Viatskim the period of a life of the great satirist and a current state ShChedrinovedenia. In an exposition interiors of the middle of XIX century M.E.Saltykova-ShChedrina's Personal things are recreated have not remained. The museum has been opened as literary with a memorial office of the writer, therefore by tradition the exhibitions acquainting with creativity of writers-fellow countrymen will annually be organised.
