Agia Lake is close enough to the city of Chania and consists of 450 acres of protected ektasis.I area is also a sanctuary where he lives a rare frog species that is endangered.In recent years, many irrigation based on water in the city have reduced dramatically the size of the lake and has valtopoiithei in many places.The purpose of local government is to become perivalontologiko park and museum in a former hydroelectric plant DEI next to the lake.
