Lovere - Colle San Giovanni, Italy
Lombardia
Il colle di San Giovanni, detto anche Monte Cala, posto a crocevia tra la Val Cavallina, la Val Borlezza e la bassa Valle Camonica, sovrasta l’abitato di Lovere e domina il Sebino. La chiesa attuale venne edificata nel corso del XVII secolo, come ampliamento di quella più antica: una lapide esterna riporta la data del 1601; l’aspetto attuale della chiesa e degli edifici limitrofi è frutto del recupero operato dagli Alpini di Lovere tra il 1964 e 1967, dopo un periodo di abbandono, come ricorda un graffito nell’atrio.
