The lake is obliged by the origin to collision of two powerful лемников, modern rivers gone down by valleys Right and Left Фролихи. Accumulation before already united glacier of huge weights of the destroyed breeds has led to loss of speed of their movement. The formed dam has limited a drain of the large rivers and has generated huge lake the area in 16,5 кв.км. Depth of lake Frolikha reaches 80 m.
