Memorial for fallen in Danish and Allied war service kastellet Copenhagen
Copenhagen
Just at the entrance to the Smith Line, the memorial stands for our fallen in Danish and Allied war service during World War II. The monument was unveiled on May 5, 1960 (the 15th anniversary of the liberation of Denmark) with a solemnity, and every May 5 and on special occasions, wreaths and flowers continue to be added here in homage to those who gave their lives for freedom. The bronze statue is made by sculptor Svend Lindhart in 1957, which is why he has signed it with this year, and is cast at Lauritz Rasmussen's bronze foundry. https://kastelletsvenner.dk/j38/index.php/find-vej-i-kastellet/14-find-vej-i-kastellet/find-vej-i-kastellet-da/47-post21
