Bekdemir village is 15km from Kavak. The village mosque, a wooden structure, is one of the best-preserved mosques of its time, as the decorative figures painted on the interior walls with 179 natural root colouring have remained intact.Constructed in 16th Century.

Modern civilization began right here in the Tigris-Euphrates river valley.
