San Juan Mission church campanario
The unique feature of the church at Mission San Juan is the placement of the campanario, or bell wall, parallel to the long side of the church. Usually the bells are placed across the front of the church, or in a wall adjacent to it. Whatever the placement, the distinctive outline of a campanario has come to symbolize Spanish missions in Texas, the Southwest, and California.
