Wikipedia "Der Wittelsbacherplatz in München wurde im Zuge der Anlage der Brienner Straße errichtet.

Ein Reiterstandbild nach einem Modell von Bertel Thorwaldsen, das Kurfürst Maximilian I. darstellt, beherrscht die Mitte des rechteckigen Platzes. An der Ostseite des Platzes steht das Odeon, die Westseite wird vom Palais Arco-Zinneberg dominiert, das Leo von Klenze 1820 errichtete. Im Norden des Platzes befindet sich das Palais Ludwig Ferdinand, 1825 ebenfalls von Klenze errichtet. Hier residiert heute die Leitung des Siemens-Konzerns. An der Nordostecke am Durchgang zum Odeonsplatz befindet sich das Palais Leuchtenberg. Im Südwesten des Platzes liegt der einstmals prächtige Block des Cafe Luitpolds, das nach den Zerstörungen des Zweiten Weltkriegs nur vereinfacht wiedererrichtet wurde."
