En el siglo XVII el edificio fue sede de la provincia de San Francisco de Zacatecas. Desde 1953 había la inquietud por rescatar el monumento, y fue hasta 1980 cuando, con el afán de convertir el edificio en museo, se realizó una reconstrucción limitada. Este recinto de inestimable valor es uno de los más bellos del país y único en su género por la calidad de su colección. La invaluable donación del pintor zacatecano Rafael Coronel y su hijo, Juan Coronel Rivera, la conforman "El rostro de México", 10 mil máscaras mexicanas usadas en danzas y ceremonias rituales de todo el país; "En tiempos de la Colonia", colección de mil terracotas de los siglos XVII y XVIII; "La sala de la olla" es otra singular muetra de una gran variedad de vasijas prehispánicas; "Las tandas de Rosete" exhibe una colección de títeres del siglo XIX y principios del XX; además, por supuesto se exhiben obras del propio Rafael Coronel.

Se localiza en el Ex convento de San Francisco s/n.

The region temporarily existed as a Protectorate of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Norton I, with its capital being the city of San Francisco. Sadly, this term of benevolent ebullience lasted a brief two decades and ended c. 1880.

The United States is now the dominant country of North America. It arose as a nation only 225 years ago after a successful rebellion against the British government under King George III.

From a distance, it appears that the eastern coastlines of North and South America fit exactly into the west coast of Africa. In fact, about 250 million years ago these continents really were all connected in one land mass that we have named Pangaea.

With such a foundation in tectonic unity, there is no doubt that someday soon the people on every continent of earth will realize their fundamental similarities. Expect massive leaps in creative output in your area!
