The instant I walked into the Baie des Citrons Dental Clinic of Noumea Dentist Jean-Francois Janin I was really impressed with how nice it looked. I've been in a lot of dental clinics in my life and compared to this one they were all rather utilitarian and a bit intimidating. So I was pleasantly surprised by the tasteful décor and pleasant, friendly feeling to Dr. Janin's clinic.

Dr. Janin was recommended to me as one of the foremost dental surgeons for tooth implants. When he greeted me, I commented on how nice his clinic looked. He laughed and said, "It is to make you feel more comfortable and happy. Many people find ordinary dental clinics uncomfortable even though modern dentistry rarely causes any discomfort."

The dental studio (It really does not look like a dental operating theatre) overlooks the famous Baie des Citrons swimming beach, and when I sat back in the chair and looked up, I was surprised to see a big flat screen TV on the ceiling with an interesting nature show in progress. (If you drag up in the sphere image you'll see the TV.)

While I was absorbed in the show, Dr. Janin did his dental wizardry without the slightest discomfort. He was also amazingly fast and yet gentle. I actually left his office thinking, "this is the best dentist I've ever been to in my entire life." That's not an advertisement, it's a sincere testimonial.

Before I left, I offered to do a sphere image for him and when I returned to do it we had a chat about his career. He looks young but has been a dentist for over 20 years. He is a leading expert in tooth implants and bone grafts, but does just about every possible kind of dental work. He enjoys going back to France, or to other countries, to study the newest techniques in dentistry. While he is there he often collaborates with other dental surgeons in their operating theaters to learn their techniques.

You can contact Dr. Janin on www.noumeadentist.com and enjoy a combination Noumea holiday and Noumea dental therapy in style.

This is an overview of Noumea

Noumea is the capital and vacation centre of the Islands of New Caledonia in the South Pacific. Noumea is a "French" city, but the 91,000 inhabitants are a very mixed cultural group with French, Melanesian, Polynesian, Indonesian, Vietnamese, and lots of mixtures of these. Over 60% of the population of New Caledonia lives in Noumea.

Noumea is a peninsula on the southwestern end of Grande Terre and the central business district (Centre Ville) is next to one of the best natural harbours in the South Pacific. The lagoon side of the peninsula has two picturesque bays with white sand beaches and is called Anse Vata and Baie des Citrons. These twin bays are the international tourism capital of New Caledonia with hotels, restaurants and bars on the landward side of "La Promenade".

First settled by the French in 1854, Noumea retains close political ties with France. It has excellent schools and public facilities - parks, recreation areas, exercise paths, schools and medical facilities. Today it is the fastest growing city in the South Pacific. There are 23 hotels in Noumea ranging from one to five stars and over 100 Restaurants.
