Die Palla war zu DDR-Zeiten einer der größten Arbeitgeber in der Textilbranche  der Region. Es gab neben den Werken in Glauchau und Meerane auch solche in Plauen. Dort später als Werk des VEB Brokat Mühltroff. Zu sehen ist hier das Werk 5 auf der Wilhelmstraße 26 in Glauchau.
