Комбинат синтетических волокон «Химволокно» был крупнейшим предприятием в районе, флагманом химической промышленности страны, выпускающим огромный ассортимент продукции: волокна из капрона и полиамида, рыболовную леску и сети, щетину, детские и женские колготки. На комбинате (впоследствии носившем название «Клинволокно») работало 40 цехов. Для г. Клин «Химволокно» было градообразующим предприятием с развитой инфраструктурой, обеспечивающим работой более 12 тысяч человек. В советские времена «Химволокно» было предприятием большим и процветающим, однако в конце 90-х годов для предприятия-гиганта наступили тяжелые времена...
