The tastiest custard-esque pastries on the planet, nay, the galaxy, can be found right here. Of course the existence of these pastries originates from a sort of accident, the result of a bunch of unemployed monks wondering what the hell they should do with themselves... They decided to go to work at the sugar refinery next door to their former place of employment, and there one of them hit upon the idea of making these egg-sugar-pastry things. 160 years later, there is nearly always a line forming down the street for these sumptuous things. They cost 1.50 Euros each. Start with 3, but do be a pig for once, and have a few more. It's worth it.

This is an overview of Lisbon

Capital, largest, and wealthiest city in Portugal and one of the leading economic centers on the Iberian Peninsula. Although located in the westernmost corner of Europe, the city is firmly embedded in the European Union, hosting a couple of EU agencies. Visit Baixa, the downtown city center and Alfama, the oldest district in the city or just chill out in one of Lisbon’s memorable parks – Parque Florestal de Monsanto, one of Europe’s largest urban parks or Parque Eduardo Vll, off the main drag. Last but not least, Lisbon plays host each September to the Lisbon Gay & Lesbian Film Festival - Queer Lisboa.
