Portland Quarry
Northland

The quarry supplies most of Whangarei's limestone for roading as well as material for Portland Cement, well-known all over New Zealand. From this point you can see up to Whangarei, across to the "Heads" as well as south towards the Brynderwyn Hills.

More About Northland

Auckland is the commercial capital of New Zealand but anything to the North can be considered "Northland". Preferred destination for tourists and workers alike when surf, sand, diving and fishing is involved. It has a solid rural base of Dary, Beef and Sheep as well as horticulture and wineyards. Whangarei is the regional city on the way up to Cape Reinga at the northernmost tip of the island.
