Riopar Viejo

Medieval Village, now restored, located a few kilometers west of the modern riópar. And the current riópar, with the former name of San Juan Factories Alcaraz, who comes from a colonization project of the eighteenth century, due to the establishment of mining operators and real factory who settled in this place, in time of Carlos III.

Riópar Viejo was a long uninhabited nucleus (similar to other towns like Medinaceli), which in some cases through the efforts of the Autonomous Community and the European Structural Funds, and other pioneering individuals who used their personal wealth, has managed to recover much of its historic and remodeling their fifteenth-century church, the Holy Spirit, which were discovered a few years ago about major covert fresh behind the altar. Also worth mentioning in this population its ruined castle near the cemetery, waiting to be recovered on the mural crown is still preserved and the central male Keep, and their curious and beautiful fountain near the escarpment.
