Центрический четырёхстолпный пятикупольный храм, хороший образец елизаветинского барокко. Выстроен на средства графа А. И. Шувалова. Боковые приделы Алексия, митрополита Московского, и вмч. Екатерины. Закрыт в 1961, открыт в 2002, ремонтируется.

На стене церкви имеется мемориальная доска: "Здесь 17 января 1942 года автоматчиками сержанта Бичука 6-ой дивизии Народного Ополчения Дзержинского района г.Москвы были спасены от гибели 700 советских граждан".
