Церковь во имя Пресвятой Богородицы Тихвинской построена по проекту выдающегося архитектора Н. Л. Бенуа в 1868 — 1871 гг., в имении графини Шереметевой селе Высоком, является одним из наиболее значимых архитектурных памятников Смоленской области. История храма, усадьбы и её владельцев тесно переплетены.

В советское время, во времена правления Хрущева, храм был закрыт и осквернен, долгое время использовался как пекарня, затем как место сборов молодежи для распития спиртных напитков и т. д.

Храм Пресвятой Богородицы Тихвинской остро нуждается в ремонте и восстановлении, с каждым годом здание церкви под влиянием внешней среды ветшает и разрушается. Если не прикладывать усилий к восстановлению, то через несколько лет мы можем лишиться жемчужины архитектурного ансамбля усадьбы Шереметевых Смоленской области.

Каким он будет теперь? ― зависит от нас с Вами.
