Utah
The St. George Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon, LDS) was the first one completed in the West after the exodus of the Mormons from Illinois. St.George is a city in the extreme southwest corner of the State of Utah and is notable as a retirement community. The Temple was dedicated in 1877 by Erastus Snow. The St. George Utah Temple is the only temple completed during Brigham Young's 30-year tenure as President of the Church.
