Place near Vydropuzhsk

Vydropuzhsk - Spirovska village in the area of the Tver region, located on the river Tvertse. Through the village passes trail M10 (E105) Moscow - St. Petersburg. There is village on the road between the two capitals.

Well-known version of the origin of the name of settlement, which Vydropuzhsk previously called Vydropusskom - hence the version that the so-called place freely lived otters(vydra - russian).

Through the village the river Tvertsa. Interestingly, in the village, through which spill over three bridges: the high piles M10 motorway bridge, and - on the left and right of that - two small road bridge.

The settlement is the church of Smolensk (Vydropusskoy) icons of Mother of God.

According to one version Vydropuzhsk was named in the words spoken by Catherine the Great, who saw a drunken coachman «Vydrat Pushcha»(beat rod)

. According to some sources, he built on public money for the groom by Alexander the First, retired.

Moscow has been the capital of Russia for almost its entire history. The exception is during the period of the Russian Empire, which lasted from 1721 until the Russian Revolution 1917. For these two centuries the capital was St. Petersburg. The Russian Empire was the second largest contiguous Empire in world memory; only the Mongol Empire had been greater.

Modern Russia remains one of the world's superpowers. They launched the earth's second satellite, called Sputnik 1, and were the first country to put a human being into orbit around earth. (The first one is called the Moon.)

After the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1991, Russia became a federal republic of 83 states.
