The Green Peat Below Nevado Huapi

The following morning I gathered correctly where Nevado Haupi is and slogged up a steep scree to reach this amazingly green plateau by the foot of it. Covered with cushion plant and mosses and fed by glacial melts the peat is too soft to tread upon and one has to skirt alongside it and at that time I thought the elusive mountain pass is that little ridge right on the shoulder of Nevado Haupi with Pucaranra.

South America makes up the southern half of the Americas and a large part of Latin America. It's home to the world's longest mountain range, biggest waterfall and largest river -- even these mammoths pale in comparison to the stunning variety of life forms thriving in the rainforest.
