Tom Crean's grave, Annascaul, Kerry
Ireland

Tom Crean (1877 - 1938) was an intrepid Antarctic explorer who participated in three major expeditions, spending more time in the Antarctic region than either Scott or Shackleton. He was part of Ernest Shackleton's legendary Endurance expedition of 1914-1916, famed for its incredible feat of survival after their expedition ship was crushed by ice and sank.

The family grave is located at Ballinacourty Cemetery, near the village of Annascaul in County Kerry, where he was born.
