Tower Fortress Koporie

Koporie or Koporie - ancient Russian city of Novgorod land County Center Votic pyatine. Votic, Izhorskiye, Finnish title: Kaprio (Caprio).

Fortress in Koporie was laid in 1237. First mentioned in chronicles of Novgorod in 1240, when the German knights built in the churchyard Koporskom wooden fortress. In 1241 Alexander Nevsky otbil fortress by German knights and ruined it.
