Two Running Violet V Forms by Robert Irwin
La Jolla
This is an art installation by Robert Irwin on the campus of the University of California San Diego, USA. It is one of twenty art pieces that is a part of the Stuart Collection on campus. The tall, blue fences are intermingled with a planted Eucalyptus grove and purple ice plant. Irwin liked the contradiction between the blue fences and the rows of planted trees. Students on campus have sometimes referred to this installation as a "giraffe catcher".
