The Upper Emerald Pool trail is a wonderful hike in Zion National Park, Utah. It ends in this small lake - a tiny island of green in the dessert - that is surrounded by cliffs of sand stone casting shadow on it. Be sure to take a good amount of water with yourself on this hike, because once outside of the shadow you'll desperately need it!
