Villafranca de los Barros

Villafranca has two major wine cooperatives: San Jose and San Isidro. In 1996 the company installed "Tartaric Products International idle and busy company currently in use by" Vinicola West "and in 1998 was born Barbosa & Almeida, Portuguese-owned company engaged in the production of glass. The latest proposal, by Industrial Group Alfonso Gallardo Jerez de los Caballeros, to build a refinery in the Sierra de San Jorge (under study) has built a tremendous controversy in the town and the region on whether or not to authorize the industry.
