Vorhof zum Schloss Birstein

Am nördlichen Rand des Main-Kinzig-Kreises, im südlichen Vorland des Vogelsberges liegt Birstein, auch Perle des Vogelsberges genannt. Auf einem Höhenrücken über dem Riedbachtal steht Schloss Birstein, Im Mittelalter Fulda`sche Burg, seit 1521 Wohnsitz der Isenburger Grafen und Fürsten, die im 16.-18. Jahrhundert hier ihre Residenz hatten. Noch heute werden die Räume von der Familie der Fürsten von Isenburg-Birstein bewohnt.
