The end of the afternoon as a pedestrian in Doha downtown, Qatar main city.

This place is like no other, where a lot a new buildings are being erected all the time, though it looks like no one lives here and most of them are probably still empty. There are some luxury shops on the ground floor of some of them, but most of the people that could be seen at this time of the day are workers.

More About Middle East

Modern civilization began right here in the Tigris-Euphrates river valley. Also known as the Fertile Crescent or Mesopotamia, this is the place where, six thousand years ago, agriculture, writing and mathematics were brought into widespread use.The term "Middle East" comes from the British navy, which used it to describe the countries on the trade route from Europe to India and China.
