The Wolayer See (German) or Lago Volaia (Italian) is a mountain lake in the Carnic Alps, Austria, close to the border to Italy, 1967 m above sea level. The alpine hut at the lake is a stop on the Carnic High Trail, a popular, multi-day hike along the ridge of the Carnic Alps. The monument visible in this image commemorates the fights that took place here during World War 1.
