XlVIII Festa do Polbo ( XlVIII Fiesta del Pulpo ) - O Carballiño

This festival is held in the Municipal Park Carballiño which brings together many pulpeiras and pulpeiros. Countless steaming copper pots felt the pleasant aroma given off by cooking the product, seasoned with olive oil, salt and paprika. In addition to the octopus cooked or prepared to trade fair, main dish of this event, you can also enjoy many other products of the Galician cuisine, as the bread of Cea, country loaf of homemade wheat and baked in wood ovens, empanadas of more different kinds, meat or Caldeira, donuts, playacting and all typical Galician products of the most prestigious pilgrimages. History: The octopus came to this land of Galicia interiorist the hand of the Cistercian monks of the Monastery of. Over time, the monastery's properties reached the coast of Pontevedra and Marin was the primary location to provide an octopus to the monastery. Since then, women of the area have been specializing in preparing a traditional style to feira. In August 1964 a group of friends, all members of the vertical union, met to make a meal whose protagonist was the cephalopod. Was proposed to hold the festival each year for all residents. Europe is generally agreed to be the birthplace of western culture, including such legendary innovations as the democratic nation-state, football and tomato sauce.The word Europe comes from the Greek goddess Europa, who was kidnapped by Zeus and plunked down on the island of Crete. Its headquarters is in Brussels, Belgium.Do not confuse the EU with the Council of Europe, which has 47 member states and dates to 1949. These two bodies share the same flag, national anthem, and mission of integrating Europe. The headquarters of the Council are located in Strasbourg, France, and it is most famous for its European Court of Human Rights. In spite of these two bodies, there is still no single Constitution or set of laws applying to all the countries of Europe. Debate rages over the role of the EU in regards to national sovereignty.
