Yorkshire in drought - above the half-empty Baitings Reservoir near Ripponden, West Yorkshire
England

Above a parched and half-empty Baitings Reservoir, between Blackstone Edge and Ripponden. The reservoir was completed in 1956, submerging the old packhorse bridge at the head of the body of water, as well as the hamlet of Baitings. When full the reservoir has a capacity of 3,190,000 m3 of water.

The morning after I photographed this, Yorkshire Water announced water use restrictions would soon be imposed. Five days later Yorkshire was declared to be in drought.
