This the the side proch of the Bourn Cottage built by William Bourn, Jr. and is located in the Empire Mine State Historic Park The Bourn family owned and managed the Empire Mine, one of the largest in California, from 1869 to 1929. It operated from 1850 to 1956 and produce 5.8 million ounces of gold.
