Heiligenblut is situated in the high-Alpine region of the Hohe Tauern, at the foot of the Großglockner - the highest mountain in Austria - and it is the starting point of the picturesque Grossglockner High Alpine Road. It's main square was reconstructed in the early 1980s along with it's historic Hotel Post.
