Il palazzo Residenz a Monaco (Germania), che è stato la sede del governo e la residenza dei duchi della Baviera, elettori e re dal 1508 al 1918, ospita 10 cortili. Quello ritratto nel panorama prende il nome di Kaiserhof (cortile dell'imperatore) ed era accessibile solo nelle principali occasioni cerimoniali.
