Owens Valley, Bishop and Sierra Nevada
California

Owens valley is an arid valley bestween the Inyo Mountains, the White Mountains and the Sierra Nevada mountain ranges. The city of Bishop is located in the northern part of Owens Valley slightly west of Owens River.

In the panorama the city of Bishop is visible as the major green area to the west. The background west of Bishop is dominated by the Sierra Nevada including features such as Mount Humphreys at 4,265 m (13,992 ft). Towards south-west the Norman Clyde Peak 4,225m (13,861 ft) and the Middle Palisade Glacier are visible.
