Saint Pierre Bois D'Olive
Reunion

L'origine du nom Bois d'Olive est probablement liée à la flore du lieu, le Bois d'Olive. Avec la création du canal Saint-Etienne, le quartier développe son économie la canne à sucre. L'histoire du quartier est aussi marquée par le Père René Favron, celui-ci décide de créer un hospice pour les personnes âgées en 1952. Le foyer Albert Barbot deviendra par la suite un centre d'accueil pour les enfants défavorisés.

De ce quartier on retiendra son aire de pique-nique particulièrement prisée par les promeneurs du dimanche. Située à proximité de l'accès à l'Entre-Deux, elle reste un lieu convivial très fréquenté par les familles.

The origin of the name Wood of Olive is probably bound(connected) to the flora of the place, the Wood of Olive.
With the creation of the channel(canal) Saint-Etienne, the district develops its sugar cane economy.
The history (story) of the district is also marked by Father René Favron, this one decides to create a home for the elderly in 1952.
The home(foyer) Albert Barbot will become afterward a reception center for the discriminated children.
Of this district we shall hold (retain) its picnic area particularly appreciated by the walkers of Sunday.
Situated near the access to the Intervening period (Jump ball), it remains a friendly place very frequented by families.
