Sankt Blasien in the Black Forest with a population of about 4,000 is best known for its Dome of St Blasius and the attached abbey which houses a private secondary school run by Jesuits. The dome was completed in 1781 as replacement of the abbey church which burnt down in 1768. The existence of the abbey was confirmed in the 11th century but is believed to be older.
The panorama shows the western facade of the school with the main entrance, the dome church in the background and part of the Kurpark, a small park in the centre of town.
