Le Jardin aux moines
France

Ce monument apparaît comme un ensemble de blocs de pierres (blancs et volumineux à l’est, en poudingue de Montfort et plus petit à l’ouest) qui forment un trapèze d’environ 25 m de long sur 5 à 6 m de large.

Des fouilles archéologiques ont été entreprises par Jacques Briard en 1983. Des pointes de flèches en silex et quelques fragments de poterie ont été découverts.

Le foyer central semble remonter à 2 000 ans avant J-C mais le monument aurait au moins 1 000 ans de plus, ce qui atteste une réutilisation du site à diverses époques. Cependant, sa fonction reste imprécise.

Ce monument est original car seuls deux ou trois exemples comparables sont connus en Bretagne.

Légende : Le seigneur Gastern de Tréhorenteuc menait une mauvaise vie, entouré de soudards avinés. Ils passaient tout leur temps en ripaille. Lors d’une orgie un jour de Toussaint, la colère divine fut telle qu’ils furent tous transformés en blocs de pierres...

France is affectionately referred to as "the Hexagon" for its overall shape.French history goes back to the Gauls, a Celtic tribe which inhabited the area circa 300BC until being conquered by Julius Caesar.The Franks were the first tribe to adopt Catholic Christianity after the Roman Empire collapsed.
