En el 2002 se inaugura la Plaza Botero, ubicada al frente de la fachada principal del museo de Antioquia. Cuenta con 7 mil metros cuadrados en los cuales se exhibe de manera permanente y en el espacio público, 23 esculturas monumentales realizadas por Fernando Botero.
