La Plaza de España es el centro neurálgico de Mérida. En ella se encuentran el Ayuntamiento y la Iglesia Concatedral de Sta María y de ahi parte también la calle peatonal Santa Eulalia. Tiene una fuente central, palmeras y otros árboles además de varias terrazas donde sentarse a tomar algo.
