Sunset at preah Khan
Cambodia

Preah Khan located in the northeastern corner of Angkor is less visited but in my opinion boasts some of the most beautiful architecture amongst the many ruins in the whole of Angkor.

Built by Jayavarman VII circa 1911, at its height it hosts more than one thousand buddhist scholars and monks along with their many servants in this mini city which serves also as a university.

Here the view is taken at the northeastern corner of the massive walled city alonside the famous two-storey building which has the most unusual structure in the whole of Angkor - well-spaced round columns on two levels without stairway access. From afar it really has more in common with classical Greek architecture than with ancient Cambodian ones.
